INTERMEDIATE SOLICITOR

Resource Management/Local Government

 

We are looking for an intermediate solicitor to join our Resource Management and Local Government team at our Auckland Office.

Brookfields Lawyers is a longstanding, leading firm with a reputation for encouraging diversity and excellence. We provide a full range of legal services to corporate, public and private clients throughout New Zealand and overseas.

This role reports to five supervising partners in the team and you will have a mix of resource management and local government/public law work. The team is highly experienced and collegial and will support and mentor you.

Our successful candidate will ideally have: 

  • Around 3-6 years post admission experience in a law firm environment, ideally in the areas of environmental, local government and public law
  • excellent academic qualifications and technical skills
  • appeared in Court and taken part in mediations
  • experience working directly with clients (preferred)
  • the ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships
  • pragmatism and the ability to focus on solutions
  • proven ability to work in a team

 

 RECEPTIONIST

We are currently seeking a junior receptionist to join our Business Support Team.

Our team members enjoy the benefits of working in small, proactive teams and our receptionist is no exception. You would form part of a close-knit team.

Duties would include:

  • reception duties, including phones and programming of same and liaising with providers
  • meet and greet clients and tradespeople
  • booking of meeting rooms and necessary equipment
  • set up and maintain meeting rooms, boardroom and partners lounge
  • maintain client kitchen in a clean and hygienic fashion during the day
  • booking of national and international couriers and maintaining records
  • re-routing of incoming faxes
  • arrange travel, car rental and hotel booking for the firm
  • other administrative and secretarial duties

Skills required would include:

  • ability to interact at all levels
  • ability to demonstrate initiative
  • organisational/time management skills
  • excellent attention to detail
