Experience
Ben joined the Brookfields resource management team in November 2017. He has provided strategic advice to both public and private clients on a wide range of policy and planning issues under the Resource Management Act 1991 and other environmental related legislation.
Ben's experience includes:
- Extensive involvement with the Thames-Coromandel District Council Appeals process, including attending Court-assisted mediations, consent order preparation and appearing in the Environment Court;
- Prosecution and enforcement proceedings, both on behalf of councils and defending private clients;
- Providing advice to private clients on a diverse range of issues to achieve positive outcomes;
- Direct referrals, including successfully obtaining consent for the infrastructure for the 36th America's Cup.
Ben is passionate about the sustainable management of New Zealand's unique natural and physical resources while achieving pragmatic outcomes that are in the best interests of clients.
Outside of work, Ben enjoys getting outdoors and hitting the slopes.
