Ruth specialises in resource management, local government and public law.  She has experience in resource consenting matters, urban development, plan changes, judicial review, acquisition of land and liquor licensing.  Previously, Ruth worked at a boutique firm specialising in environmental law.

Prior to working in law, Ruth was an environmental consultant in Australia and a planner in New Zealand.  She has over nine years’ experience working as an environmental professional specialising in environmental impact assessment, approvals, due diligence, and compliance of infrastructure projects and urban development.  Ruth provided approvals advice through all stages of project development, including concept, feasibility and design, construction and commissioning.  Notable major infrastructure projects that Ruth worked on in Australia include the QCLNG Pipeline (540 km), APLNG Pipeline (530km) and the Arrow Bowen Pipeline (580km).

After moving to New Zealand Ruth worked as a planner at an international consultancy.  In this role she contributed to New Zealand Transport Agency’s (NZTA) Southern Corridor Project and Northern Corridor Project, urban development projects and processed resource consents for Auckland Council and Kaipara District Council.

Ruth’s background as an environmental professional has given her practical knowledge about development and the skills to provide clients pragmatic solutions to their resource management problems.
